Marketing Advisor – Commercial

Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week)

Location: Christchurch or Wellington

About the role – Kōrero mō te tūranga

We’re seeking an Advisor Commercial Marketing to join our Marketing team and support the growth and impact of our commercial businesses, with a primary focus on First Aid and Retail.

This is an opportunity to bring creative thinking, strong campaign delivery and a customer-focused approach to a trusted humanitarian organisation. Working closely with teams across First Aid, Retail, Communications, Marketing and Philanthropy, you will help build awareness, strengthen engagement and support commercial outcomes that contribute to our mission of improving the lives of vulnerable people. 

In this role:

You will plan, coordinate and deliver integrated marketing campaigns and communications that support our First Aid and Retail portfolios. Your work will span digital, print and other marketing channels, helping connect customers and communities with New Zealand Red Cross products, services and initiatives. As well as:

  • Develop and deliver marketing campaigns and communications for First Aid and Retail.
  • Create engaging content and collateral across digital, print and other channels.
  • Coordinate activity across owned, earned and paid media.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities to grow awareness, customer engagement and revenue.
  • Plan and report against agreed marketin
  • KPIs for the First Aid and Retail portfolios, with insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Plan and track the portfolio marketing budget, forecasting spends and flagging variances to the Manager Marketing.
  • Support wider marketing, communications and brand initiatives as required.

Who are we looking for? – Mā‎ wai te mahi nei? 

We are looking for a proactive and collaborative marketer who enjoys variety, builds strong relationships and can turn ideas into effective campaigns. You will bring sound judgement, strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

You will have a good understanding of marketing principles, campaign delivery and customer engagement, along with an appreciation of how marketing can support commercial outcomes in a purpose-led organisation. Experience working with online channels, social media and content development would be an advantage.

To be successful you will have: 

  • A tertiary qualification in marketing, communications or another relevant field.
  • Experience developing and delivering marketing activity across multiple channels.
  • Experience marketing a commercial or retail business, or a customer-facing environment where the work was measured on revenue, sales or customer numbers.
  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills for web, social media, print and other channels.
  • Confidence working with stakeholders, suppliers and creative partners.
  • Strong planning, organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations and how they relate to your work.
  • Empathy for the humanitarian sector and a commitment to the purpose and values of New Zealand Red Cross.
