About the role – Kōrero mō te tūranga
We're looking for an audience-focused fundraiser to join New Zealand Red Cross as our Advisor Individual Giving. Reporting to the Manager Individual Giving, this newly created role is responsible for establishing and growing our mid-value giving programme, creating meaningful experiences that deepen donor engagement and increase long-term fundraising income.
You'll design donor journeys, develop tailored stewardship and engagement strategies, and work to build a best-in-class programme from the ground up. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strategy, relationship management and innovation to create lasting impact.
In this role you will:
- Design and deliver New Zealand Red Cross first mid-level giving programme and donor strategy.
- Develop personalised donor journeys, stewardship plans and engagement campaigns that strengthen loyalty and increase lifetime value.
- Work across the wider directorate to deliver integrated donor experiences.
- Use donor insights, reporting and testing to continually improve programme performance.
- Build strong relationships with mid-value donors and create meaningful opportunities for connection and recognition.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver exceptional donor communications and experiences.

We're looking for an experienced fundraiser who enjoys building relationships, thinking strategically and turning ideas into action. You'll be excited by the opportunity to establish a new programme and help shape the future of philanthropy at New Zealand Red Cross.
To be successful you will have:
- Experience in fundraising, donor engagement or relationship management.
- Experience developing and delivering donor strategies or fundraising programmes.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use donor insights to inform decisions.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across diverse teams.
- An empathy with humanitarian causes and alignment with the Fundamental Principles of New Zealand Red Cross.
