Advisor Psychosocial

Permanent, Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)

Flexible location – Wellington, Auckland or Christchurch

About the role – Kōrero mō te tūranga

This role plays a key part in shaping and delivering high-quality mental health and wellbeing training. As the Advisor Psychosocial, you’ll bring subject matter expertise to both the development and delivery of courses, supporting Red Cross people and the wider community. You’ll also work closely with facilitators and stakeholders to ensure training is relevant, effective and aligned with best practice. 

This is a location-flexible role and so we welcome applications from across Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

In this role you will: 

  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of engaging mental health and wellbeing training programmes
  • Deliver high-quality courses and support facilitators to ensure consistent, impactful learning experiences
  • Support with coaching and supervision to psychosocial facilitators
  • Work closely with internal teams and external partners to strengthen collaboration and Red Cross’s position as a leader in psychosocial training
  • Contribute to trainer development programmes and support the delivery of course content
  • Ensure all training aligns with quality standards, policies and best practice guidelines

While this role is usually Monday to Friday, occasional weekend work may be required by prior discussion and agreement.

To be successful in this role

  • You bring experience working in a psychosocial support or mental health environment, backed by a relevant qualification
  • You understand adult learning principles and know how to create engaging, effective training experiences
  • You’re a confident and capable facilitator who can adapt to diverse audiences and learning styles
  • You have great communication skills and are comfortable engaging with people from a wide range of backgrounds
  • You’re proactive, organised and able to manage projects while working both independently and as part of a team
  • You’re passionate about mental wellbeing and motivated to contribute to the work of New Zealand Red Cross
