IT Solutions and Development Engineer

NZRC offers a total remuneration approach of $100,759 for this role, which comprises of base salary as well as employer contribution to KiwiSaver. About the role – Kōrero mō te tūranga
Organisational Services are seeking an IT Solutions and Development Engineer (IT SDE) to work with our team to deliver quality solutions to our end users. The IT SDE, working alongside the IT Solutions and Development Lead, will manage the overall technical architecture of NZRC information systems, as well as designing, developing, and implementing technical solutions to meet the needs of the organisation. This role will work alongside the Project Manager and IT Analysts to understand business requirements and implement solutions based on those requirements.
It is an exciting time for IT at NZRC as we embark on a transformation programme to align our IT roadmap with Realising 2030 strategy and business needs. Effective technology and information systems and tools are at the heart of supporting better performance, greater efficiency, and a high-quality people experience at NZ Red Cross. Key to this is ensuring we deliver effective solutions and capability to our people.
We are looking for a unicorn who is:
- Able to work efficiently and collaboratively with the existing team as part of our development team function.
- Experienced with working with third parties and third party delivered services.
- Familiar with Azure, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Exchange.
- Experienced in Power Platform and related reporting technologies, especially Fabric/Power BI.
- Experienced in systems integration work.
- Knowledgeable in Information Architecture and Management.
- Knowledgeable in business and systems processes.
- Familiar with various project methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- A confident communicator possessing strong communication and customer service skills.
- Able to respond and adapt to surging crises situations – core to what NZRC does.
- Excited to grow with the IT Team on its transformational journey.

The successful candidate for this role will be an enthusiastic individual who is keen to bring their technical skills and customer service attitude and put them to work in the solution development space. Experience in the non-profit/for-purpose sector is a plus.
