Advisor Community Fundraising

About the role – Kōrero mō te tūranga
As Advisor Community Fundraising you will be part of a dynamic fundraising team, responsible for cultivating and stewarding relationships internally and externally. You will develop, coordinate and deliver a portfolio of exciting and engaging national fundraising events that raise funds and awareness for the work of New Zealand Red Cross. This will support and create new and existing national fundraising events, as well as motivate and enable passionate branch fundraiser activities.
While Wellington is our preferred location, we’re happy to consider applicants from Auckland or Christchurch.
In this role you will:
- Identify and pursue new best practice community fundraising opportunities.
- Develop and coordinate national community fundraising events.
- Keep on top of trends and changes in fundraising to enable best practice community fundraising.
- Innovate and promote fundraising toolkits for effective community engagement of fundraising activities.
- Provide expertise to actively enable fundraising across the NZ Red Cross membership, volunteers and employees.
- Provide strategic input to wider directorate and organisation to drive revenue growth.
- Provide regular reports and keep the CRM/fundraising database up-to-date.

Who are we looking for? – Mā wai te mahi nei?
To be successful you will have:
- 3-5 years’ experience in community fundraising.
- A tertiary qualification in communication, marketing or event management (or equivalent experience), and transferable skills from experience in your previous roles.
- Highly skilled in building and managing effective relationships with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others, ideally experienced in communicating with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Discerning judgement and flexibility in the face of complexity, ambiguity and uncertainty.
- Ability to develop and deliver tailored fundraising programmes with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and EEO principles, with empathy and cultural awareness.
- Self-motivated, well-presented, and comfortable working autonomously while contributing to a team.
- An empathy for the humanitarian sector is highly desirable.
