Retail Procedures and Reporting Lead

About the role – Kōrero mō te tūranga
Our newly created Retail Process Improvement and Reporting Lead, reports directly to the Director Retail. In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining operational procedures and guidelines to ensure Red Cross Shops operate efficiently and reflect best practice within available resources. You will lead health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives across the retail network, supporting practices that meet New Zealand workplace legislation and Red Cross policies, while working closely with our internal Health, Safety and Wellbeing team to maintain a robust framework. Additionally, you’ll create effective training materials to support shop operations, assist with training delivery where needed, and provide operational performance reporting and analysis to drive continuous improvement.
We welcome applications from Auckland or Wellington. This role requires flexibility to travel occasionally, including overnight.
In this role you will:
- Develop and maintain operational procedures and guidelines to ensure consistency and retail excellence across all Red Cross Shops.
- Create and implement training materials to support shop operations and assist with delivery where required.
- Lead the development of a national Health, Safety and Wellbeing framework aligned with legislation and Red Cross standards.
- Support Retail Regional Managers with training and monitoring to ensure compliance with operational and health, safety, and wellbeing requirements.
- Establish and manage a national performance reporting framework, providing analysis to identify improvement opportunities and inform decision-making.
- Collaborate with Retail Regional Managers and system providers to enhance management reporting and point-of-sale functionality.
- Undertake additional activities to support the effective performance of the retail network as directed by the Director Retail.

To be successful you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, with experience developing operational standards, frameworks, and training materials.
- Demonstrated retail management experience, coupled with a strong understanding of retail growth drivers and the ability to provide well-informed recommendations.
- Skilled in creating and maintaining performance reporting frameworks, with strong data analysis capabilities to guide strategic decisions.
- Proven ability to design and deliver training that promotes best practice and workplace efficiency.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, with excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and proactively, while building positive relationships across diverse teams.
- Alignment with humanitarian values and commitment to the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement.
NZRC offers a total remuneration approach of circa $69,000 for this role, which comprises of base salary as well as employer contribution to KiwiSaver. While remuneration rates are set to reflect that we are a humanitarian not for profit organisation, we believe our employee leave provision and flexible working arrangements, provide a highly rewarding work experience.
