Advisor Contracts and Reporting
Fixed Term: Mid-May 2025 until 5 June 2026 (parental leave cover)
Part time: 0.6FTE (22.5 hours per week)

NZRC offers a total remuneration approach of $73,836 (37.5 hours per week, full time equivalent) for this role, which comprises of base salary as well as employer contribution to KiwiSaver. The pro rata total remuneration for 0.6FTE (22.5 hours per week) is $44,301.60 (including KiwiSaver). While remuneration rates are set to reflect that we are a humanitarian not for profit organisation, we believe our employee leave provision and flexible working arrangements, provide a highly rewarding work experience.
About the role – Kōrero mō te tūranga
We have an exciting, fixed term (parental leave cover) opportunity for an Advisor Contracts and Reporting to support the Migration team with its contract reporting, monitoring and evaluation.
The Migration Group supports former refugees and vulnerable migrants through our programmes including Pathways to Settlement (P2S), Pathways to Employment (P2E), Pathways to Protection and Refugee Trauma Recovery (RTR).
This role offers the flexibility to work remotely, with the ability to choose days and hours that suit you. We encourage applications from candidates across the motu. Ideally, we are looking for the successful candidate to begin in mid-May 2025 to ensure a smooth handover.
In this role you will:
- Monitor and manage contract accountabilities for Migration Programmes, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and maintaining accurate contract files.
- Develop and coordinate invoice and report monitoring schedules in collaboration with national migration, finance, and relevant teams, and share with service delivery teams.
- Prepare and submit reports for agencies and funders, providing feedback and analysis to the National Migration Team and service delivery teams.
- Contribute to the development of monitoring and evaluation tools to assess programme effectiveness and prepare communications for stakeholders.
- Support regional service delivery teams in understanding contract requirements, assist with reporting, and collaborate with internal teams on grant applications and accountability reports.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, including government contract managers, to ensure smooth contract management and data reporting.

To be successful you will have:
- Strong understanding of government contracting systems, with knowledge of the refugee sector both internationally and within New Zealand.
- Proven experience in contract management and accountability reporting, along with expertise in developing and implementing results-based accountability frameworks.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in databases, spreadsheets, financial numeracy, concise business writing, and problem-solving in complex or uncertain situations.
- A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., commerce, social sciences) or equivalent experience, with a strong foundation in project proposal preparation.
- Excellent people skills with the ability to build and maintain productive partnerships, demonstrating empathy for humanitarian causes and a commitment to the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement.
- Ability to work independently, manage projects, collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders, and demonstrate honesty, integrity, and a commitment to continuous learning and development.
There may be some travel in this role, so you will be required to have a current full drivers licence.
