Analyst, Fundraising Insights
Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Wellington
About the role – Kōrero mō te tūranga
New Zealand Red Cross is looking for a curious, analytical and solutions-focused Analyst, Fundraising Insights to join our Supporter Care & Database team. This is an established role that has built strong momentum, and we’re looking for someone who can pick up that foundation and continue to grow the way we use data and insight to support fundraising across New Zealand Red Cross.
If you enjoy getting beneath the numbers, investigating why something is happening and turning data into practical recommendations, this could be the role for you. You’ll work across fundraising, Supporter Care & Database, Communications and Marketing, IT and Finance, helping us understand our supporters, improve our fundraising activity and make smarter, evidence-based decisions.
You’ll play a key role in enabling data-driven fundraising across New Zealand Red Cross. This will include:
- analysing supporter and fundraising data to identify trends, opportunities, risks and areas for improvement
- developing reporting, dashboards and actionable insights that help teams make informed decisions
- investigating anomalies and data quality or campaign performance issues and recommending solutions
- supporting campaign targeting, segmentation and supporter journey development
- helping us strengthen test-and-learn approaches, donor scoring and predictive analysis
- exploring tools such as Power BI and AI to automate reporting and create smarter, more efficient ways of working
- maintaining and optimising our supporter CRM, Raiser’s Edge, alongside our wider database team
- developing efficient and scalable data processes, particularly for Individual Giving
- ensuring supporter data is accurate, secure and managed in line with privacy, governance and ethical fundraising standards
- working collaboratively across teams to continuously improve how data supports our fundraising and supporter experience.
This isn’t a role where you simply produce a report and move on. We want someone who is interested in the why behind the numbers, can spot opportunities others might miss, and is comfortable asking questions, testing ideas and recommending better ways of doing things.
Who are we looking for? – Mā wai te mahi nei?
You’ll be someone who enjoys solving problems and can turn complex data into information people can actually use.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
- strong analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills
- experience working with CRM databases – experience with Raiser’s Edge or another fundraising CRM would be a real advantage
- strong data management, segmentation and reporting capability
- an ability to identify issues and opportunities proactively rather than waiting to be asked
- experience developing dashboards or using data visualisation tools such as Power BI
- an understanding of data privacy, security and good data governance
- strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical colleagues.
Why New Zealand Red Cross?
You’ll be joining an organisation with a purpose: improving the lives of vulnerable people by mobilising the power of humanity and enhancing community resilience.
Behind that purpose is a huge range of data, fundraising activity and supporter interactions. This role provides an opportunity to use your analytical skills to make those activities more effective – helping us better understand our supporters, improve their experience and strengthen the fundraising that enables our humanitarian work.
If you’re someone who sees a dashboard and immediately wants to know “what is this telling us – and what should we do next?”, we’d love to hear from you.
Alongside this, we are committed to having an accessible, diverse, inclusive, and barrier-free work environment where everyone can reach their full potential. We encourage all qualified persons who share our values and want to contribute to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace to apply.
At New Zealand Red Cross, you’ll join a passionate and diverse team that values your contributions and shares your commitment to making a difference. We are committed to represent the communities we serve, increasing diversity throughout our people and leadership, and creating a flexible and healthy work environment. Many roles offer flexible virtual/hybrid options to help our employees balance their personal and professional priorities.
Our benefits include:
- Five weeks annual leave
- Career development opportunities
- Annual flu vaccinations
- Discounts on Southern Cross health insurance
