Senior Advisor Procurement, Contracts and Asset Management

About the role – Kōrero mō te tūranga
The Senior Advisor Procurement, Contracts and Asset Management will focus on supporting to manage our supplier base and commercial relationships and developing our asset management environment. You will bring your commercial and legal experience to ensure we manage our commercial relationships effectively and sustainably to enable New Zealand Red Cross to deliver on its goals. Another part of the role is to develop and embed an asset management framework for the organisation.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to further grow their skills and experience in the procurement and asset management area. You will have a background of helping organisations undertake good procurement and contract management. This role will include using your experience to advise on how to get good value for money from our procurements as well as ensuring the legal terms of contracts support our organisation needs. This will be coupled with an enthusiasm for continuous improvement and ensuring that suppliers are well managed to deliver strong commercial outcomes.
NZRC offers a total remuneration approach of circa $97k for this role, which comprises of base salary as well as employer contribution to KiwiSaver. While remuneration rates are set to reflect that we are a humanitarian not for profit organisation, we believe our employee leave provision and flexible working arrangements, provide a highly rewarding work experience.
In this role, we are looking for someone who has the experience and capacity to:
Procurement and Contract Management
- Continue development of our Procurement Framework
- Advise and support procurement and purchase activities across the organisation
- Draft and revise a variety of contracts with customers
- Review and/or amend contracts
- Develop procurement tools to enable business users to engage with and manage suppliers
- Advise on the effective management of suppliers
- Monitor contracts for risks and issues and advise on mitigation
- Develop and manage the process for spend analysis
- Investigate, negotiate and manage centralised procurement contracts to achieve organisational benefits from the supply of services, equipment and materials.
- Ensure our procurement and contract management approach aligns to our climate strategy
Asset Management
- Develop and implement an organisation policy and framework for undertaking of asset management
- Manage a program of change across the organisation to embed the asset management framework
- Maintain the asset management framework through regular training and promotion of the framework

We encourage you to apply for this role if you have some or all of these competencies:
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
- A working knowledge of procurement processes
- Experience in contractor and supplier relationships
- An understanding of contract development and administration
- A working knowledge of contract law
- Knowledge of asset management methodologies, processes and tools
- Educated to degree level or equivalent – formal qualifications in business management and/or commercial law preferred
- Preferred experience in ESG supplier management
