About the role – Kōrero mō te tūranga
Our newly created Retail Procedures and Reporting Specialist, reports directly to the Director Retail. You will be responsible for producing and maintaining operational procedures and guidelines to ensure Red Cross Shops operate efficiently and reflect best practice, including guidelines for Health Safety and Wellbeing. You will also be producing retail reports utilising PowerBI, and Point of Sale (POS) data, to produce financial management reports. Additionally, you’ll create effective training materials to support shop operations and assist with training delivery where needed.
This intermediate level role is ideal for someone that has experience in retail operations, documenting procedures and guidelines and who also has technical ability to utilise data to produce financial reports.
While Auckland is our preferred location, we are also open to candidates based in Wellington. This role requires flexibility to travel occasionally, including overnight.
In this role you will:
- Contribute to writing, updating, and maintaining retail operational procedures and guidelines to ensure accuracy, consistency and alignment to best practice across all Red Cross Shops.
- Produce and manage regular retail performance reports, analyse data and help identify opportunities to grow revenue and identify areas for continuous improvement. Create and implement training materials to support shop operations and assist with delivery where required.
- Support the development of a national Health, Safety and Wellbeing framework and guidelines aligned with legislation and Red Cross standards.
- Support Retail Regional Managers with training and monitoring to ensure alignment with operational processes and health, safety, and wellbeing requirements.
- Collaborate with Retail Regional Managers and system providers to identify opportunities to enhance management reporting and point-of-sale functionality.
- Undertake additional activities to support the effective performance of the retail network as directed by the Director Retail.
Who are we looking for? – Mā wai te mahi nei?
To be successful you will have:
- Previous retail operations experience is essential, with a good understanding of key retail sales drivers.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field is preferred, with experience developing operational standards, frameworks, and training materials.
- Experience using PowerBI or similar reporting tools, to access point of sale (POS) data to create meaningful retail performance reports that support operational insight and improvement.
- Demonstrated methodical written communication skills to produce easy-to-follow retail guidelines, manuals and support with step-by-step material for training purposes
NZRC offers a total remuneration approach of circa $70,000 for this role, which comprises of base salary as well as employer contribution to KiwiSaver. While remuneration rates are set to reflect that we are a humanitarian not for profit organisation, we believe our employee leave provision and flexible working arrangements, provide a highly rewarding work experience.
