NZRC offers a total remuneration approach of $81,088 for this role, which comprises of base salary as well as employer contribution to KiwiSaver. As our IT Support Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our ICT systems across New Zealand. You’ll provide day-to-day support and guidance to both local and remote staff, helping them stay connected and productive.

In this hands-on role, you’ll be the first point of contact for IT-related queries, resolving issues and managing service requests with professionalism and care. You’ll also contribute to system administration, assist with project delivery, and support upgrades and replacements of devices and systems.

In this role you will: 

  • Provide frontline IT support by responding to service requests and resolving technical issues efficiently, escalating complex problems when necessary.
  • Maintain system availability across all sites, ensuring staff and stakeholders have reliable access to business systems and devices.
  • Support users with onboarding, setup, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and business applications, both locally and remotely.
  • Manage IT assets and infrastructure, including installation of hardware and software upgrades, and maintaining accurate records of licenses and equipment.
  • Contribute to IT operations and projects, assisting with the implementation of technology standards and supporting system enhancements and replacements.

To be successful you will have: 

  • Solid understanding of best practice IT support processes, with strong technical knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft technologies including Azure, Microsoft 365, and Exchange.
  • Proven commitment to delivering high-quality support, with excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of users.
  • Previous experience in an ICT support role within a Microsoft environment is preferred and relevant IT qualifications or training are a plus – but not essential
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues, exercise sound judgement, and take initiative in a dynamic environment.
  • Able to manage competing priorities, work under pressure, and demonstrate flexibility—including occasional out-of-hours support and domestic travel.
  • Genuine empathy for humanitarian causes and a strong alignment with the mission and Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement.
