First Aid Instructor
Multiple Permanent Full-time and Part-time opportunities available
30 – 37.5 hours per week

NZRC offers a starting remuneration of circa $64k with progression of remuneration based on attaining relevant qualifications. Our remuneration comprises of base salary as well as employer contribution to KiwiSaver. About the role – Kōrero mō te tūranga
As a First Aid Instructor, you’ll report to a First Aid Training Team Leader and play a key role in delivering high-quality New Zealand Red Cross (NZRC) first aid courses and other approved training programmes across the Wellington Region. You’ll facilitate engaging, effective courses that meet NZRC standards, policies, and guidelines, ensuring every learner receives the support they need to succeed.
In this role we are looking for someone who has the capability to:
- Teach first aid to the public in a way that promotes calmness, confidence, and competence during emergency situations.
- Strengthen individuals’ ability to recognise and respond appropriately to real medical emergencies through practical, hands-on training.
- Have fun sharing knowledge with people using Red Cross’s nationally recognised First Aid programme.
- Enjoy interacting with classrooms of people and receiving the positive feedback that comes from people as they learn new, life-saving skills

- A background in Emergency Care Services or related Health field is mandatory.
- Experience in a teaching environment preferred
- Full clean NZ Driver’s License is required
- The confidence to interact with a cross-section of the public.
- Passion for teaching and promoting safety within the community.
- Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work unsupervised.
Availability for weekend and evening work when required.
