Senior Advisor Fleet and Facility Management
Fixed Term until 30 June 2027

NZRC offers a total remuneration approach of $95,443.00 for this role, which comprises of base salary as well as employer contribution to KiwiSaver. The Senior Advisor Fleet and Facility Management will bring their experience managing fleets and implementing and operating facility management models. You will also have a knowledge of how to reduce carbon emissions across fleet and property portfolios.
In this role you will:
Fleet
- Manage the fleet management contract, ensuring delivery against KPI’s and alignment with internal policies and procedures
- Lead fleet planning and optimisation by maintaining the Asset Management Plan, conduct regular optimisation reviews and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and performance
- Advise internal teams on fleet processes and lead initiatives that improve operations, adopt best practices and incorporate new technologies
- Oversee vehicle procurement, including negotiations, fit-outs and branding, as well as coordinate vehicle disposals and decommissioning of assets
- Manage insurance claim coordination and ensure effective risk management across the fleet portfolio
- Develop and implement fleet carbon emission reduction plans that align with organisational sustainability targets
Facility Management
- Lead the development of property management frameworks and ensure facility-related policies and procedures remain current and effective
- Develop business cases and manage the procurement and oversight of nationwide and local facility management solutions.
- Oversee building-related suppliers and contractors, ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery of maintenance, repairs, and facility services.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and ensure all Red Cross’s properties are safe, secure, and meet legal standards, including up-to-date Warrants of Fitness.
- Develop and lead the implementation of electricity carbon emission reduction plans in line with organisational sustainability goals
- Monitor facility operations to ensure all work is completed on time and within budget, supporting overall organisational efficiency.
Who are we looking for? – Mā wai te mahi nei?
To be successful you will have:
- Degree level educated with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in fleet and facilities management across office and operational environments
- Proven ability to manage end-to-end fleet operations—including acquisition, maintenance, scheduling, and disposal—while developing strategies to optimise performance, reduce costs, and ensure compliance.
- Strong background in procuring and managing multi-site facility services, with experience in developing frameworks, overseeing contractors, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated experience in budget management, data analysis and contract negotiation, with the ability to identify trends and drive continuous operational improvement
- Excellent engagement and communication skills, with proven ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills and an awareness of environmental and sustainability goals related to fleet and facilities operations.
