NZRC offers a total remuneration approach of $88,341 (pro-rata if part time hours) for this role, which comprises of base salary as well as employer contribution to KiwiSaver. You will have a legal and commercial background and an enthusiasm for continuous improvement and ensuring that suppliers and property portfolio are well managed to deliver strong commercial outcomes.
The Advisor Contracts and Asset Management will bring their legal and commercial experience to ensure we manage our commercial relationships and operate our assets effectively and sustainably to enable New Zealand Red Cross to deliver on its goals.
This role would suit a recent Commercial Law graduate or someone who has proven practical experience with contract law and providing legal support.
We can offer flexibility in terms of hours for this role between 20 – 37.5 hours per week. Please note that the total remuneration will be pro-rata depending on the part time hours worked.
In this role you will:
- Review, revise, and draft contracts in accordance with legal guidelines, ensuring all internal documentation is accurate and fully compliant.
- Provide guidance and support throughout the contract renewal and extension processes, alongside contract management for business clients.
- Monitor and analyse contract performance and supplier KPIs, identifying any areas where contractual obligations or performance expectations are not being met.
- Offer legal advice on contract-related matters, escalating high-risk issues or unresolved concerns to the Director of Finance and Commercial.
- Assist with the development and implementation of procurement frameworks, processes, and spend analysis to enhance supplier management and ensure alignment with New Zealand Red Cross’s climate strategy.
- Oversee the upkeep of New Zealand Red Cross’s asset registers.
Who are we looking for? – Mā wai te mahi nei?
To be successful you will have:
- In-depth understanding of contract drafting, administration, and relevant contract law principles, alongside a solid grasp of procurement processes and risk management strategies.
- Practical experience with asset management methodologies and related processes.
- A degree in business management, commercial law, or a related field, complemented by hands-on experience in contract management.
- Proven ability to manage contractor and supplier relationships, with a particular focus on procurement and experience in managing ESG supplier considerations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities, capable of managing competing deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong commercial acumen, adept negotiation skills, and a genuine commitment to humanitarian causes.
